Rama Lake is a lake near Astore in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. It is on the highest point of the beautiful Astore Valley that has a light covering of oak trees and other greenery. There isn't much greenery (starting at 2013) due to illegal logging of the woodland by local people and "timber mafia". The locale has low normal precipitation and low vegetation spread subsequently the misfortune of forest cover is of an intense concern.
While in transit to Rama Lake, from Astore Valley, there are three little lakes called Sarot in the nearby Shina language.
Prior to 2005, Astore was a Tehsil of District Diamir, the fifth District of Gilgit-Baltistan. Presently Astore has been moved up to a District.
There are in excess of 50 little delightful towns in Astore. Some of which are Chilm, Bubin, Gorikot, Eid Ghah, Fina, Bulen, Chongra, and Pari Shing.
Rama Valley is thickly forested with enormous pine, cedar, fir and juniper trees. The valley is around 3300 meters (10800 feet) above ocean level and in this way is snow secured for 7–8 months of the year. In summer, it winds up rich green; conditions supported by nearby shepherds.
From here one can trek to east side of the Nanga Parbat (otherwise called the Killer Mountain), the world's ninth most astounding mountain.
Lake Rama is close Astore town. On KKH in the wake of passing the exit for Fairy Meadows continue driving for about an additional 20 minutes. When you go over the sign for Astore turn in that spot, prop up for another 2–3 hours. You will touch base at the town of Astore. The valley is famous for outdoors in the summers. Street towards Rama knoll has now been solidified and voyagers can reach there without undue trouble, anyway there is an hour and half trek to Rama Lake.
