Rawalakot is a township in Azad Kashmir, and is the district headquarter of Poonch Division. It is in a beautiful valley encircled by hills, which is located 80 km away from Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Rawalakot is a summer tourist spots The winters in Rawalakot are cold and chilly. There are many attraction for visitors like Banjosa; Toli Pir; Poonch River; Tatta Pani; Banjosoa Lake; Sudhngalli and many more.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has opened a new tourist spot in Galiyat in a put up bid to further tourism in the country. Samundar Katha Lake , near Barra Gali, is now unbarred for public. This lake has been developed artificially amidst peaks, where tourists can enjoy speed boats, zip-lining, and horse riding.
